The Baby from 'Labyrinth' Grew Up to Be a Puppeteer on 'The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance'

Next month, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will arrive on Netflix. The new series will have plenty of connections to Jim Henson's previous work, but here's one you may not have expected: The show features puppeteering from the guy who played the baby in the Henson classic Labyrinth.

Yes, the "babe with the power" grew up to be a puppeteer and wound up working on the latest Henson adaptation. It wasn't sheer luck, however.

As Nerdist explains, Toby Froud was cast to play the baby in Labyrinth because his father Brian was the film's conceptual designer. Now an adult, Toby has worked with his dad and his mother, sculptor Wendy Midener, on the new show.

The series will take place before the story of Jim Henson and Frank Oz's classic 1982 Dark Crystal film, with Louis Leterrier now directing. All 10 episodes of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will hit Netflix on August 30.
