Testees: The Complete Series

In the second episode of Testees (a Toronto, ON-based series about two guys that work for an experimental product research company called Testico), Ron (Jeff Kassel) and Peter (Steve Markle) take a pill that inverts their penises into vaginas. Peter is disappointed that his has "beef curtains," but still runs off to the kitchen to pleasure himself with a carrot, which breaks inside of him. Ron is somewhat more pleased with his new genitalia and decides to shave a "landing strip" into it. This is ostensibly the gist of the short-lived comedy series from Kenny vs. Spenny creator and star Kenny Hotz. Each episode features a new product and series of resultant predicaments involving blindness, chastity belts and a perfume that turns older, unattractive women into zombie rapists. Despite never trying for much beyond crass humour and shock value, Testees manages to be somewhat clever and is frequently laugh-out-loud funny, often going in unexpected directions and to surprising extremes. For example, in the episode where the duo is to test a new super-glue, Peter accidentally gets his face stuck to Ron's bare ass. Aside from the physical comedy, watching them attempt to get dressed, or the inevitability of Ron having a bowel movement, the storyline takes them to a "differently abled" talent contest and features a rather explicit sex scene unlike anything you've seen before. They manage to take obvious gags to the next level, which is anchored by brave, uncompromising performances from the lead actors who make-out, spit food into each other's mouths and, as mentioned, spend an entire episode ass-to-face. There are even random and unlikely references, such as The Diving Bell and the Butterfly satire episode, where Peter winds up completely paralyzed, only able to communicate by blinking his eyes. They mock the many likely problems avoided in the French drama, such as accidentally blinking at the wrong time while a caretaker spells out the alphabet, which, in the episode, leads to Ron chewing up a jelly bean omelette and spitting it into his friend's mouth. This set also includes all of the webisodes associated with the show, which are far more amusing than most supplemental material. The three "Sex Doll" episodes stand out, featuring a very vivid sexual montage with Jeff Kassel and a blow-up sex doll, wherein he sits on its face and sings "Ava Maria." There's also a surprisingly catchy "vagina song" that details the various cuisine-based aromas associated with male and female genitalia.
