Teenaged Mulder and Scully to Be Explored in 'X-Files Origins' Novel Series

While the cult sci-fi show The X-Files is currently back on television (with a new punk edge), we'll soon get even more tales of agents Mulder and Scully, as the pair are due for a prequel.

Unfortunately, their early years will not be explored in a Muppet Babies-style animated series. Instead, the two agents will have their teenage years covered in a series of young adult novels.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, the books will follow a 17-year-old Mulder and 15-year-old Scully in the spring of 1979. In the books, they explore serial murder, government conspiracies and the occult.

Here's hoping they also deal with teen issues like prom, acne and securing a driver's license!

The first two books in The X-Files Origins are called Agent of Chaos and Devil's Advocate. They're both due in January 2017.
