Taika Waititi is one busy dude. On top of a new Thor movie, a live-action Akira, a second season of What We Do in the Shadows and a potential Time Bandits series, he's managed to direct and star in the satirical new movie Jojo Rabbit. Today, we get our first look with a new trailer.

The film is based on the book Caging Skies by Christine Leunens. Set during World War II, it follows the story of a young German boy (Roman Griffin Davis) who realizes his mother (Scarlett Johansson) has been hiding a young girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. The film will also star Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson and Alfie Allen.

As pictured above, the film also features Adolf Hitler — who will be played by Waititi himself.

Based on the first trailer, it looks like a downright adorable movie about racism. It's certainly a strange tone, to be sure, but we trust Waititi's capable hands.

Jojo Rabbit has been set for an October 18 release by Fox Searchlight, meaning the film will be out just in time for awards season. As previously reported, the film will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs from September 5 to 15.
