One could argue that Hollywood is getting a little Carrie'd away with Stephen King adaptations. After all, just about every property he's ever written has received multiple adaptations. And after multiple Carrie projects (including the ill-received 2013 reboot), the book property is now becoming a TV series.
Deadline has confirmed that FX is working on a limited series adaptation of the novel. It's still in its early stages, so there's no writer or director currently attached to the project.
The first Carrie arrived in 1976 and was directed by Brian De Palma and starred Sissy Spacek. A sequel to that film arrived in 1999. It was also revisited as a short-lived Broadway musical in 1988, as well as a made-for TV movie in addition to its 2013 reboot, which starred Chloë Grace Moretz.
