'Star Wars' Movies About Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi Reportedly Put on Hold

Although fans are divided on the main trilogy of the current Star Wars movies, one thing is for certain — the standalone movies subtitled A Star Wars Story have given Lucasfilm execs massive headaches. As such, they've reportedly paused the series.

As Collider reports, sources linked to Lucasfilm have said that the company is hitting pause on their side movies. Consequently, planned films about Obi-Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett have been put on hold.

The news should come as no surprise to anyone that has been paying attention to the situation. Both Solo and Rogue One saw their directors let go through production, resulting in expensive reshoots. Making matters worse, Solo underperformed at the box office.

Then again, one could argue that these films would have done better if they hadn't been carefully scrutinized by Lucasfilm execs. We still want to know what Chris Lord and Phil Miller would've done with Solo.

That said, Lucasfilm is reportedly putting all of its resources into Star Wars: Episode IX and its subsequent trilogy.
