While Kanye West has gone on record to count the likes of Martin Margiela and and Raf Simons among his fashion inspirations, he may have another one in actor Shia LaBeouf, considering he allegedly pilfered the actor's entire closet of clothes.
In a new interview with Esquire, LaBeouf talks about how West asked to use some of his clothing for a pop-up shop while at his home to discuss art collaborations.
"Around the same time, I took my mother to his concert," LaBeouf told the publication. "She is, of course, obsessed with Kanye West. When I brought her backstage, he was a fucking sweetheart to her. And it just felt fair. So I'm like, 'Go for it, my guy. Take everything you want.' And he did. He took all my fucking clothes."
LaBeouf added that he and West "haven't really been in contact since he blew up onstage and, you know, shit on me," referring to West's mid-concert meltdown during a 2016 performance in Sacramento.
When asked by Esquire if he had tried reaching out, LaBeouf replied, "Of course, bro. I fucking love Kanye West. He's going through a lot. And I don't know where he's at or what he's doing."
Social media sleuths that have been following West's recent moves believe he is at work on new material in Jackson Hole, WY. A source told E! News that the rapper had been recording in the town "for the last week," while artists such as Travis Scott, Mike Dean, Pi'erre Bourne, A$AP Bari, King Louie and The-Dream have all recently stopped in the state.
