Shawn Levy Sparks Rumours That Taylor Swift Is in 'Deadpool 3'

The pair worked together on 'All Too Well: The Short Film'

No matter what you do, don't ask Shawn Levy if Taylor Swift is going to make a cameo in Deadpool 3. Seriously, don't do it. If he reacts anything like how he did when Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz asked him about it, he'll smile really big, laugh it off, and politely avoid the question in true stereotypical Canadian fashion — which might just mean that she's in it, after all.

The Montreal-born Stranger Things and Night at the Museum director says that, ever since joining Swift's entourage at an NFL game — to watch her apparent situationship, Travis Kelce — he's been bombarded with questions about the singer's potential involvement in the upcoming addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"I went to a football game a couple weeks ago and I had a really good time with friends, and I am thrilled to be talking about other things," he deflected.

Horowitz even had a role in mind for Swift when broaching the subject, saying he'd "pay big money" to see her as retired popstar turned superhero, Dazzler.

"It sure escapes the lips of social media every day," he laughed at the idea. "It sounds like a great idea."

Levy has a working relationship with Swift from her viral short film All Too Well, in which she was behind the camera, and he portrayed the main character's (presumed to be based on Swift) father.

He did reveal that there are some unannounced big-name cameos in the film next to the leads — his frequent collaborators Ryan Reynolds (Free Guy, The Adam Project) and Hugh Jackman (Real Steel) — but remained tight-lipped about who they might be.

"What blew my mind, also, is how easy some of those cameos have been [to secure]," he continued. "People love Deadpool, people love Ryan. Thankfully, people also seem to like my work. They know that Ryan and I are in a groove of creative brotherhood that is unique and seems to be working."

Deadpool 3 is currently slated to arrive on May 3, 2024.
