Seth Rogen's R-Rated Animated Movie 'Sausage Party' to Screen at SXSW

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg continue to be two of Hollywood's most popular figures in stoner entertainment, and their next project will certainly continue that trend by combining bright colours, junk food and filthy humour.

The long-in-the-works Sausage Party is a star-studded, Pixar-style animated movie that Rogen has been hyping up for years. Now, he explains that the film will have a work-in-progress screening at this year's SXSW.

Rogen announced the screening on Twitter, promising a "unique experience." It'll take place on March 14 at Austin's Paramount Theater. He also shared the first official image from the film, which is available above.

Last year, Rogen spoke with Howard Stern about Sausage Party. "It was a really hard movie to get made, because it's fucking crazy and no one wanted to make it," he said. In a previous interview, he explained that the movie includes an extremely graphic food orgy scene.

Despite its low budget and difficulty to get made, the film has attracted some crazy voice talent. In addition to Rogen, it stars James Franco, Kristen Wiig, Salma Hayek, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Edward Norton, Michael Cera, Bill Hader, David Krumholtz, Danny McBride and Nick Kroll, among others.

Stay tuned for more information on Sausage Party as it becomes available.
