See Toronto Drag Queens Transform Into Iconic Netflix Characters

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 22, 2018

Pride month is still in full swing, and Netflix is celebrating the LGBTQ+ community by shining a spotlight on Toronto drag queens for a video series called Queens of Netflix.

The set of video clips sees favourite local performers transforming into Netflix original characters, while reflecting on what Pride means to them.

First up, Jezebel Bardot turned herself into Netflix royalty — literally. She portrayed Queen Elizabeth II from The Crown.

Tynomi Banks, meanwhile, opted to dress up as Tracey Gordon from Chewing Gum.

Erin Brockobic went full '80s, donning the big hair and form-fitting leotards of the gorgeous ladies of wrestling from GLOW, and by the end of her transformation, she was giving off some serious Ruth vibes.

Finally, Beardra Bidness represented the bearded queens, getting done up as Connie the Hormone Monstress from the animated series Big Mouth.

Be sure to head over here to check out what's coming to Netflix next month. You might even come out of your next binge-watch session with some fresh hair, makeup and wardrobe inspiration!
