Ryan Reynolds Shares #SaveTheRio Video Message at Vancouver 'Deadpool' Screening
It's no secret that Ryan Reynolds is a proud Vancouverite, and last night (June 25), he did his hometown proud by advocating to #SaveTheRio.

The Canadian actor submitted a personalized video message for the Rio Theatre, playing the clip during back-to-back screenings of Deadpool and Deadpool 2 yesterday evening.

"Fuck, I wish I could be there," Reynolds told the crowd.

He went on to thank the audience for watching his films, as well as for "standing up for what is right."

Reynolds praised the theatre, calling it a "landmark" and an "institution in Vancouver." He closed the video recording by reminding viewers that Vancouver is "fucking awesome."

The Rio Theatre was recently saved from demolition by the operators' bid to buy the building, though it is still raising funds to complete the purchase.

Earlier this year, Reynolds tweeted his support for the #SaveTheRio campaign, along with other celebrities like Kevin Smith.
