Published Jun 16, 2015There's currently a flood of movies in production about the BP oil spill of 2010. Mark Wahlberg is working on a film with World War Z writer Matthew Michael Carnahan for release next year, but first it's Nicolas Cage's turn to scoop up some murky black water.
Cage stars in The Runner and he uses a terrible southern accent to stand up against BP for the people of Louisiana. The film looks incredibly campy, with Cage sexing it up and becoming entangled in political scandles, but it's hard to say if it'll be bad enough to be good.
Either way, peep the trailer for The Runner below.
