Love 'em or hate 'em, there's no denying Rob Zombie's Halloween films were ambitious. But while we turn our heads towards the new instalments of John Carpenter's long-running horror series, Zombie is looking back to his films, giving us their soundtracks on vinyl for the very first time.

Waxwork Records has announced the label will release the first-ever vinyl releases of Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween and its 2009 sequel Halloween II. The pair of OSTs are due out on October 31, appropriately enough, and pre-orders just went live today.

The soundtrack to Zombie's first Halloween film will arrive as a deluxe double-LP, with the score cues by composer Tyler Bates, in addition to dialogue snippets from the actual film. Beyond that, the OST includes tracks by Alice Cooper, the Misfits, Blue Öyster Cult, Nazareth, Peter Frampton, KISS and Iggy Pop, among others.

The vinyl set will arrive on 180-gram black and crystal clear striped vinyl with "Pumpkin Orange Splatter." It will include exclusive liner notes by Zombie, a 12"x12" 20-page booklet of never-before-seen set photos from his personal collection, a 12"x12" art print insert, printed inner LP sleeves featuring set photography and newly done artwork by Robert Sammelin.

As for Halloween II, it will again include the score by Bates, as well as dialogue from the film. There are also songs by the Moody Blues, Motörhead, Void, Scream, Foghat, Cap-tain Clegg and the Nightcreatures and more.

This vinyl release will be made up of a single 180-gram record, pressed on "Pumpkin Orange, Candy Apple Red and Magenta swirled" coloured vinyl. It will again feature new liner notes by Zombie, a 12"x12" 20-page booklet of photos, an art insert and new art by Sammelin.

As previously reported, the next films in the series, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends by David Gordon Green, will now arrive on October 15, 2021, and October 14, 2022, respectively.
