Chris "Big Black" Boykin was one half of the wildly popular MTV reality show Rob & Big alongside professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek. Now, sadly, he has passed away.
While his cause of death has not yet been confirmed, TMZ suggests that Big died of a heart attack. He was 45 years old.
Prior to Rob & Big, the duo appeared together in a handful of DC skate videos. Rob & Big launched them to stardom, and saw the pair get into all sorts of hijinks.
As TMZ points out, the pair had a falling-out after Rob & Big. They eventually patched things up, and Big also appeared on Dyrdek's show Fantasy Factory.
Boykin is survived by his 9-year-old daughter.
UPDATE (05/10, 12:30 p.m. EDT): TMZ spoke with Boykin's ex-wife Shannon Turley, who says he had been hospitalized in the days leading up to his death. He had been struggling with heart issues, and already had a defibrillator installed earlier on in his life. Read a statement from her below.
