The entertainment world at large was stunned and saddened by the death of Luke Perry yesterday (March 4), and some of his Riverdale castmates have now joined in the chorus of social media tributes to the late actor.

Perry portrayed Fred Andrews, father to Archie Andrews, on the CW/Netflix show since it debuted in 2016.

Production on the set of Riverdale was suspended yesterday, after news of Perry's death was announced. Production remained shut down as of this morning, as well.

A number of his castmates sent messages of support to the actor after he suffered a massive stroke last week. Since his passing, many others have shared memorials via social media.

My heart is broken ....There are so many special moments in life that we all take for granted ...like @madchenamick pulling out her phone and taking this sweet and silly 'selfie' of us all. We assume that the #laughter will last or that they'll be another time to tell someone just how important they are to you ....#lukeperry was of the most kind and gentle souls this world has ever been given .... a true gift and I'm deeply grateful and will forever cherish the time we shared .....the friendship , the talks about our kids and politics and directing and tennis and wrestling. I love you Luke and you will always hold a special place in my heart. I miss you already 😢🙏❤️#riverdalefamily #riverdalestrong
