​'Riverdale' Cast Pays Tribute to Luke Perry

The entertainment world at large was stunned and saddened by the death of Luke Perry yesterday (March 4), and some of his Riverdale castmates have now joined in the chorus of social media tributes to the late actor.
 
Perry portrayed Fred Andrews, father to Archie Andrews, on the CW/Netflix show since it debuted in 2016.
 
Production on the set of Riverdale was suspended yesterday, after news of Perry's death was announced. Production remained shut down as of this morning, as well.
 
A number of his castmates sent messages of support to the actor after he suffered a massive stroke last week. Since his passing, many others have shared memorials via social media.

I'm finding it hard to grasp that he will no longer be around to give long hugs and share his wisdom and kindness with all of us.

My heart is broken ....There are so many special moments in life that we all take for granted ...like @madchenamick pulling out her phone and taking this sweet and silly 'selfie' of us all. We assume that the #laughter will last or that they'll be another time to tell someone just how important they are to you ....#lukeperry was of the most kind and gentle souls this world has ever been given .... a true gift and I'm deeply grateful and will forever cherish the time we shared .....the friendship , the talks about our kids and politics and directing and tennis and wrestling. Luke made people feel safe and valued and welcome. Luke made us laugh. He certainly made me laugh. He was gracious, kind; a gentleman. But most of all he was a fine, fine father and my friend. Thank you, Luke. We miss you. Stay close.🙏🏼🧡💛❤

Woke up this morning a ball of tears. Luke Perry was the kindest, warmest, most loving human being. He always went out of his way to make me feel safe, heard and seen in his presence. I love you so much Luke. You embraced me on that set and eased any discomfort. You always made me feel included when I did not. You are a stand up man and for that I am so grateful. Thank you for being a ray of light for me and so many ❤️

I'm totally heartbroken. Luke took me under his wing the day I was cast and made me feel like I belonged. He was the most generous, wise soul with unmatched kindness. He treated everyone with love and joy. We had so much fun. Praying for his family.
