Richard Dreyfuss Wants to Remind You That He's Not Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Late Father

Last night (September 18), television enthusiasts watched as their favourites (and, perhaps, least favourites) were awarded Emmys. While accepting her much-deserved Emmy for her role on Veep, Julia Louis-Dreyfus tearfully dedicated it to her father, who recently passed away. As Richard Dreyfuss himself will remind you, he's not Julia's father.

The Jaws actor took to Twitter to remind fans that, while he appreciates their kind words, he's not related to Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Further, he's very much alive.

Anyone who may have thought otherwise clearly has some issues with comprehension. Not only do they spell their surnames differently, but Julia named her real-life father onstage.

"I'd like to dedicate this to my father, William Louis-Dreyfus, who passed away on Friday," she said while accepting her Veep award.
