Saving us from a harsh reality where an entire generation of people associate The Karate Kid with Jaden Smith, the one and only Ralph Macchio has decided to return to his famous role as Daniel LaRusso.

Macchio will star in a new television series alongside his Karate Kid rival William Zabka, who will reprise his role as the bully Johnny Lawrence.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is called Cobra Kai and will be made up of 10 episodes. After a bidding war that included Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and AMC, the show will appear on YouTube Red.

The show, which will arrive in 2018, is set 30 years after the karate tournament featured in the original film. Johnny is out to get revenge on Daniel, who is himself trying to maintain a balanced life without Mr. Miyagi (the late Pat Morita).

Stay tuned for more information on Cobra Kai as it becomes available.
