This week, the international horror community has lost a legendary director with the passing of Andrzej Żuławski. The Polish filmmaker was 75 and died following a long battle with cancer.
Żuławski is best known for directing 1981's Possession, which starred Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. The film has since developed a cult following, and is beloved by critics all over the world.
The director was not particularly prolific in recent years, with a 15 year gap between 2000's Fidelity and last year's Cosmos. Still, he left behind a seriously impressive body of work.
Remembering him on Twitter, Guillermo del Toro explained that he was in talks to work with Żuławski on his next film:
