Aside from one solo disaster, Phil Lord and Chris Miller have a nearly flawless track record that includes everything from Clone High and The Last Man on Earth through 21 Jump StreetThe Lego Movie and last year's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With a career that impressive, it should come as no surprise that they've just signed a massive new development deal with Sony Pictures Television.

According to Deadline, the duo have signed a five-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television. The financials of the deal have not been disclosed, but it's believed to be in the nine figures.

The pair will develop both live-action and animated series in both comedy and drama genres through their Lord Miller Productions company. Apparently, the deal includes a series based on Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters, which has been referred to as Spider-Verse in the deal.

In other words, while details are scarce, it looks like Spider-Verse will be getting a proper television spinoff. Who knows, maybe they'll include some of our picks for what the various Spider-Beings listen to musically.

"We are so grateful to everyone at Sony Pictures Television for choosing to partner with us and expand our enduring relationship with the studio. Together we aim to make groundbreaking work of the highest quality and integrity, and to place that work in convenient proximity to your eyeballs and earholes, wherever you may be," Lord and Miller said in a statement.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
