Phil Lord and Chris Miller Are No Longer Directing the Han Solo Movie
Here's some news that'll surely tear apart the galaxy as we know it — Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the unique director duo who were helming the forthcoming standalone Han Solo movie, are no longer involved with the project.

It's been nearly two years since the pair were confirmed as directors for the long-awaited Star Wars film, and they've since shared a punny working title and posed for photos with the actors. Perhaps their distinct sensibilities did not mesh with the strict Star Wars tone, however, as they've parted ways with Disney.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said that the pair had been let go. "Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it's become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we've decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon," she wrote.

Lord and Miller confirmed the news with a statement of their own, saying, "Unfortunately, our vision and process weren't aligned with our partners on this project. We normally aren't fans of the phrase 'creative differences' but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew."

The good news is that this means Lord and Miller will have more time to get back to the quirky projects they're known for. The duo have been responsible for everything from The LEGO Movie to The Last Man on Earth, not to mention beloved early work like Clone High.
