People Cannot Deal with the Water Bottle Spotted in Greta Gerwig's 'Little Women'

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 2, 2020

Greta Gerwig's film adaptation of Little Women delivered stunning performances and breathed new life into an old story, but apparently the period piece wasn't exactly consistent with the American Civil War era — because there was a plastic water bottle and a Hydroflask spotted in a scene.

A self-described Little Women superfan made the discovery while rewatching the film, and it went viral when she pointed out the mistake in a TikTok video.

The slip-up happens in an early scene, where sisters Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth and their mother Marmee first meet their neighbour Laurie. Sure enough, there in the background is a Poland Spring plastic bottle and a silver Hydroflask reusable bottle.

Of course, Little Women isn't the only victim of such a gaffe. Last year, Game of Thrones left coffee cups and water bottles on set during multiple episodes of its final season.
