The Osbournes: The First Season

The Osbournes: The First Season
Nobody saw it coming, not even Ozzy. The first season of the Osbournes broke ratings records and made Kelly, Jack, Sharon and Ozzy unlikely household names. The Emmy award-winning series debut is all here, along with as many features as you can handle without getting completely annoyed by the constant kicking, screaming and mumbling. The Osbournes is a fantastic show and incredibly compelling to watch because this family isn't normal and they don't have the same problems as the average viewer, ultimately leading to scenarios that are usually penned for sitcoms, not reality-based television. The double-disc package includes all ten episodes, as well as a handful of extras, such as deleted scenes, a blooper reel, one-on-one interviews and even an Ozzy translator, so you can finally understand what the Prince of Darkness is bloody going on about. Deleted scenes range from mildly interesting to downright pointless. There's also episode commentary so we can listen in on the family's thoughts on certain events a second time around, which doesn't exactly seem practical for a reality show. But with most DVDs these days the extras are just thrown together for the sake of cramming more bang for you buck. The real greatness lies in the episodes. The uncensored version of this DVD is highly recommended because you wouldn't believe how much relevant dialogue is missed once the censors are through with this family. Sharon! Extras: un-aired footage, season highlights, episode commentary, never-before-seen interviews. (Miramax/Buena Vista)
