Considering the fact that Japanese auteur Sion Sono has more than 50 directing credits to his name, it's somewhat surprising he hasn't made an English-language feature. That will change soon, however, as he's set to make a film with none other than Nicolas Cage.
As Deadline reports, the film is called Prisoners of the Ghostland and will see Cage play a criminal named Hero.
Here's the official synopsis for the film:
Notorious criminal Hero (Cage) is sent to rescue an abducted girl who has disappeared into a dark supernatural universe. They must break the evil curse that binds them and escape the mysterious revenants that rule the Ghostland, an East-meets-West vortex of beauty and violence.
