If you've been itching to watch the next episode of Game of Thrones, you now can, even though it's not due out until Sunday (August 6). Yes, Season 7's Episode 4 has sprung a leak, but it isn't even due to HBO's high-profile hacking situation.
As The Verge reports, the episode — which is now available to stream and/or download online — leaked due to an HBO distribution partner and not from the group of hackers that recently targeted the company. The episode is in a low-quality format and includes a "for internal viewing only" watermark. It arrived via a Google Drive posting on Reddit.
This latest bit of GoT trouble all comes in the wake of a massive security breach earlier this week at HBO, where hackers reportedly stole 1.5 terabytes of data from the company's servers. So far, though, hackers have only published scripts online and not full episodes.
But if HBO is simply going to leak the episodes themselves, they don't really need to.
