Netflix original series Atypical has been renewed for a fourth season, but the streaming service also announced that the next season will be the show's last.

The series follows Sam Gardner, a teenager on the autism spectrum, as he navigates relationships with his younger sister, parents, best friend, girlfriend and therapist — as well as the transition from high school to college.

Keir Gilchrist stars as Sam, while Brigette Lundy-Paine, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Michael Rapaport play his immediate family members.

The series was created by Robia Rashid and originally premiered in 2017.

An exact release date for the fourth and final season has not yet been confirmed, though it's expected to arrive in 2021.
