Netflix Soon Won't Work on Certain Samsung TVs

If you are a Netflix streamer and a Samsung TV owner, you'll want to pay attention. Starting at the end of the year, Netflix will no longer directly work on some Samsung devices, including Smart TVs.

The switch will happen on December 1, with Samsung explaining that it's apparently due to "technical limitations" of some devices.

In a statement posted by Samsung, the company wrote the following:

Due to technical limitations, Netflix will no longer be supported on some devices beginning on December 1st, 2019. Some older Samsung smart TV's are affected by this change. In the future, Netflix can be viewed from many other devices capable of connecting to your TV.

As you can see, though, it's unclear which devices and models will be affected by the change.

As Samsung points out, there are other ways to access Netflix on a Smart TV other than directly through the TV's built-in streaming app. But doing that, of course, is going to involve not only some extra wiring but also potentially an extra purchase. And shelling out an chunk of cash to buy an extra device such as Roku or Apple TV simply to access Netflix again will no doubt be a tough pill to swallow.
