Morgan Freeman's impossibly warm voice is a perfect comfort in every movie he appears in, so imagine what your life would be like if you could experience it in real life? Vancouver residents will finally learn, as the actor is the new official voice of TransLink.

Yes, local transit announcements will now be made by the famed actor at select SkyTrain stations and on certain buses this summer. The collaboration is to promote a new tap-to-pay feature, which is the first of its kind in North America.

"Good news, Vancouver. Starting today, you can now tap your Visa to go anywhere TransLink takes you," Freeman says in one audio clip.

"Hello bus riders. This is a smoke-free bus, but I'm sure you already knew that," says another. "What you might not know, however, is that you can now tap your Visa to go anywhere TransLink takes you. Have a great day."

Riders hoping to hear Freeman's voice will be able to at six different yet-to-be-announced bus routes and at select SkyTrain stations between June 4 and July 29.

Freeman's voice will also greet fans over the PA at the end of BC Lions home games on June 8, June 16 and July 14.

And just in case you thought getting Freeman was some big waste of tax dollars, TransLink didn't actually pay for his voice work. The announcements are part of an ad campaign paid for by Visa Canada.
