Miley Cyrus Says She Stopped Wanting to Be Hannah Montana as Soon as She Had Sex
Miley Cyrus has pinpointed the exact moment when she decided she had outgrown Hannah Montana — as soon as she had sex for the first time.

The former Disney star revealed as much in a new interview with Elle. Speaking about the role of Hannah Montana's title star, Cyrus admitted it got to a point where she wanted to break out from the role.

"I did once I was 18 because it felt ridiculous," she said. "The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can't put the fucking wig on again. It got weird. It just felt like... I was grown up."

That wasn't the only life event that disconnected her from the Disney character. An 18-year-old Cyrus faced backlash from lots of angry moms when a video of her taking a hit off a bong surfaced online towards the end of the show's run.

"One time I went backstage at Disneyland, and Peter Pan was smoking a cigarette," she explained. "And I was like, 'That's me. That's the kind of dreams I'm crushing.' That's how everyone felt with the bong video, but I'm not a Disney mascot. I'm a person."

Nevertheless, Cyrus has finally come to terms with her Disney star past, and now that she's out of the wig, she can appreciate the role for what it was.

"I feel like I'm just not ashamed of that anymore," Cyrus said. "It's pretty cool when you hear Cardi B was listening to Hannah Montana when she was in high school. That shit makes me happy."
