Liam Neeson's latest revenge movie is probably exactly the same as all of his other revenge movies, but he's managed to turn its press tour into a black hole of bad takes. In an interview to promote the movie (which is called Cold Pursuit in case anyone's still curious), he admitted that he wanted to murder a random black man after his friend was raped. In a follow-up interview, Neeson blamed his thoughts on growing up in a society "where there was a lot of bigotry." Now, this disastrous talking point has claimed another celeb, as Michelle Rodriguez is weighing in for some reason.
Rodriguez and Neeson co-starred in last year's beloved Widows, and somehow that movie proved to Rodriguez that he's not racist. Specifically, she says it's because he french-kissed Viola Davis in the film.
"It's all fuckin' bullshit. Liam Neeson is not a racist," Rodriguez told Vanity Fair. "Dude, have you watched Widows? His tongue was so far down Viola Davis's throat. You can't call him a racist ever. Racists don't make out with the race that they hate, especially in the way he does with his tongue — so deep down her throat. I don't care how good of an actor you are. It's all bullshit. Ignore it. He's not a racist. He's a loving man. It's all lies."
Hmmm....
