'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,' 'Game of Thrones' Lead Emmy Wins

A dude also proposed to his girlfriend while accepting an award

Last night, the 70th annual primetime Emmys were handed out. Though there weren't anymore Tom Arnold-related brawls, there was no shortage of action. Here's what happened.

The show was hosted by SNL's "Weekend Update" hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che, who had plenty of wry commentary for the current pop cultural zeitgeist. They were also helped by plenty of castmates in their opening bit.

Amazon's The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel lead the wins, taking home five trophies for its first season. Game of Thrones, meanwhile, took home two awards.

There's a reason Glenn Weiss won Outstanding Director for a Variety Special — the guy knows how to make viral moments happen. After all, while accepting his award he decided to propose to his girlfriend, Jan Svendsen. She said yes.

Watch Jost and Che's opening monologue below, where you'll also find a list of winners.
