Despite plans to embark on a tour dubbed "Hell Never Dies" later this year, Marilyn Manson has now been revealed as a guest star in Paolo Sorrentino's forthcoming series The New Pope.

As Variety points out, HBO has shared first-look images of Manson and actress Sharon Stone in character for the show, which is set to follow Sorrentino's previous series The Young Pope.

While details of their roles have yet to be revealed, it marks the first time that Manson and Stone have worked with Sorrentino. Though Stone and John Malkovich appear to be dressed in holy garb, Manson's outfit doesn't look much different from something he would appear in onstage.

Variety notes that both Manson and Stone are known to have been fans of The Young Pope. Their set photos follow shots of Malkovich and Jude Law in papal outfits that were shared this past January.

Variety notes that a premiere date for The New Pope has yet to be set. The Young Pope aired on HBO in January 2017.
