Last year, we learned that anime series Cowboy Bebop would be getting a live-action reboot, and now Netflix has secured the show for 10 episodes.

The series is being helmed by Tomorrow Studios, and it will feature the anime's original director Shinichiro Watanabe as a consultant.

The story follows bounty hunters Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed, as they track down the most dangerous criminals in the universe.

It marks the latest anime-inspired addition to Netflix, following a live-action adaptations of Death Note and Avatar: The Last Airbender, as well as an upcoming animated show based on Pacific Rim.

The original Cowboy Bebop anime was produced by Sunrise Inc. and was released in 1998. It ran for two seasons, before Cowboy Bebop: The Movie was released in 2001.
