Lionsgate Is Threatening to Release an Absurd Amount of 'Power Rangers' Movies

If something works in Hollywood, we can expect to be beaten over the skull with that same idea over and over again until it no longer works and we instead wish we were never born. You can call it the Transformers effect, and it's still going strong with the threat of a ridiculous amount of Power Rangers movies.

Lionsgate is currently rebooting the colourful ninja franchise (with Elizabeth Banks in a villainous role), and they're so confident in the movie's success that they might make a shit-ton more of them.

Variety reports that Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has threatened the masses with a lifetime's worth of Power Rangers movies. In a conference call, he said, "We are really, really excited about the 'Power Rangers' movie. We could see doing five or six or seven."

In other words, we're only a few years away from a dystopian hellscape where every movie somehow fits into the Power Rangers, Marvel, Star Wars or Minions universe.

The first movie in the hellishly long Power Rangers franchise will open on March 24, 2017.
