Just the other day, Le Matos broke the news of their long-awaited Turbo Kid follow-up Summer of '84, and now we're getting our first proper taste of the upcoming soundtrack release. Today the Montreal duo are premiering "Cold Summer," complete with guest vocals by Computer Magic.

"Cold Summer" is an extended version of the anticipated soundtrack's opening theme, which packs in dense layers of '80s-appropriate synths that would make John Carpenter proud. But with the help of Computer Magic's vocals, the song definitely takes on a more pop-oriented feel, though pop of a very ghostly nature.

Get your first taste of the promising Summer of '84 soundtrack below by giving "Cold Summer" a stream. As Le Matos explain, they are planning to release two other new tracks with Computer Magic later this year.

As previously reported, the vinyl edition of the Summer of '84 soundtrack will arrive in November via Death Waltz Recording Company. Pre-orders are set to launch Wednesday (August 15) via Mondo's website.

Summer of '84 is currently playing select theatres and hits VOD on August 24. The digital version of the Summer of '84 soundtrack will also arrive on August 24.

As previously reported, the film stars Graham Verchere, Judah Lewis, Caleb Emery, Cory Grüter-Andrew, Tiera Skovbye and Rich Sommer. You can learn more about the film and showtimes over here.
