Late night TV is taking some major hits recently, with two of its most popular hosts — Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers — revealing that they've tested positive for COVID.
In an Instagram post, Fallon wrote that "on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid. I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms." However, having quarantined over the holidays, Fallon's show made a return yesterday (January 3) with guests Anthony Anderson and Carly Pearce.
Seth Meyers' COVID diagnosis came more recently, with the SNL alumnus writing in a tweet posted today (January 4) that "the bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!)"
He added that Late Night would most likely make its return in a remote format next week, telling his viewers to "tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!"
Meyers had just returned to Late Night on Monday after a holiday break with a broadcast that included a live studio audience and guests — including David Byrne — who appeared for remote interviews.
Late Night with Seth Meyers has cancelled the rest of this week's shows.
