Kumail Nanjiani and Ray Romano Banter Around in the First Trailer for 'The Big Sick'

Don't listen to Ray — it's not a movie about a frat-party king

One of many breakout comedies at Sundance this year, The Big Sick sold to Amazon for a big and sick $12 million USD. Which makes sense for comedy star power alone — in addition to its cast, the film was produced by Judd Apatow and directed by Michael Showalter.

Then there's that cast — The Big Sick stars Nanjiani as himself, joined by Zoe Kazan (as his wife, co-writer Emily Gordon), Holly Hunter and scene stealer Ray Romano. The film is based on the real-life story of how Nanjiani and Gordon met.

The first trailer for The Big Sick is finally available below. After some jokey banter from Ray Romano about a fictional frat party, you can dig into the whole thing.

The Big Sick hits theatres this June.
