The Knife

Silent Shout — An Audiovisual Experience

BY Cam LindsayPublished Aug 17, 2007

Part of Mute’s three-disc deluxe edition of the Knife’s Silent Shout, which also features the album and a live CD of the concert DVD, this "experience” presents the Swedish duo in a way that many fans have yet to witness: live and in the flesh. As you’d expect, their performance at the Trädgår'n in their hometown of Gothenburg is enough to cause permanent damage from goose bumps. From the bizarre masked outfits and strobe lights to the hypnotic visuals and softened remix of signature tune "Heartbeats,” it’s a sight to be seen and heard, here in full 5.1 audio. Also on the bill, as a nice treat, is the entire Knife video catalogue (11 in total), as well as the short film When I Found the Knife, a strange, fictional narrative told by a bunny that discovered the Knife in a shack in the woods — and then signed them to his label.
