Kevin Smith Thanks Chris Pratt for His Prayers in Facebook Video

Kevin Smith has shared a video, thanking fans — including Chris Pratt — for their well wishes while he recovers from a "massive" heart attack.

In the 20-minute clip, Smith gives viewers a play-by-play recap of the health episode, which took place on Sunday (February 25) night in between sets at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA.

He details the attack, the trip to the hospital, the shaving of his groin and the ensuing cardiac procedures — which only took place after losing the battle with hospital staff to keep his hat and underwear on.

Smith goes on to thank everyone who sent messages wishing him a speedy recovery. He related the experience to hearing his own eulogy and was pleasantly surprised with the overwhelmingly positive reactions.

He gave a specific shout out to Guardians of the Galaxy star Pratt, who became the target of social media haters after offering his "prayers" to the recovering comedian.

"Poor Chris Pratt, one of my favourite actors on the planet," Smith said in the video. "He fucking put up a nice tweet where he was just like 'Hey man, I don't know you that much, but I love Clerks and I'm praying for you. And apparently some people were like 'Fuck your prayers!' and attacked him and shit."

Smith sided with Guardians director James Gunn, who eventually stepped in to defend Pratt, reiterating that it was a nice gesture — and pretty cool to get a message from Star Lord.

"Please don't fight over stuff like that," Smith added. "It's a waste of time."
