Kevin Costner Foraged "the Good Kind" of Mushrooms While Filming 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'

In a very true example of taking the good with the bad, Kevin Reynolds's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was the second highest grossing film in 1991, but also had Bryan Adams's "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" as its theme song. As for star Kevin Costner, he took more of the good in finding the finest of mushrooms while on set.

In an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Costner told the story of how he got to searching for mushrooms with one of the film crew's stuntmen.

"One of my stunt guys came up to me — I was just getting to know him a little bit, and we're out in the country — and he goes, 'You wanna go hunt for some mushrooms?' And I go, 'What kind of mushrooms?' And the guy goes, 'The good kind.'"

Costner recalled the two walked around a field in costume looking for the funky fungi. He was told by his stuntman that after he found one mushroom, it would "tell him where to find the others." Though he thankfully didn't take any before shooting a swordfight scene, Costner made sure to mention that he "did find some after work."

Watch him tell the story below.
