The news of a possible Bill & Ted 3 has been an emotional rollercoaster, with constant updates revealing it's definitely happening and it's definitely not happening. As of today, the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction, as Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have shared a video confirming the project, which now even has a release date.

Reuniting as Wyld Stallyns, the pair appeared at the Hollywood Bowl to confirm the project, which is going under the title of Bill & Ted Face the Music. That said, there's still a pensiveness as they say "we might actually hopefully make a movie this summer."

But according to a press release, the film is really happening. After all, the video was posted by Orion Pictures, which gave it a release date of August 21, 2020.

Plus, the announcement came alongside the following film synopsis:

Yet to fulfill their rock'n'roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.

The press release also reveals that the film is being written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who wrote the first two Bill & Ted films. Bill & Ted Face the Music will be directed by Dean Parisot.
