The reboot/sequel will simply be called 'Shrunk'

In the ongoing efforts to reboot any and all intellectual properties that may have a bit of juice left to squeeze out of them, Disney is reportedly looking to bring back Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Those hoping for another Rick Moranis starring role will have to wait, however, as the film will apparently star Josh Gad.

The news comes from /Film, which says it has confirmed the story with three independent sources. The new movie will simply be called Shrunk and, while technically a reboot of the original film, will be positioned as a "legecyequel."

Good lord, we were not ready to learn such a bad buzz word this early in the week.

In Shrunk, Gad will reportedly play Wayne Szalinski's son Adam, who was played by Daniel and Joshua Shalikar in the 1992 sequel Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. Now a grown man, Adam is a scientist who, well, shrinks his kids.

Stay tuned for more news on this potential "legecyequel" as it becomes available.
