Published Feb 01, 2017Last month, actor Johnny Depp filed a lawsuit against his former business managers, the Management Group, claiming that they had mismanaged his funds. This week, the Management Group filed a countersuit, wherein the company alleges some seriously wacky spending habits.
As reported by Page Six, the lawsuit claims that Johnny Depp spends approximately $30,000 USD a month on wine. On top of that, he allegedly spends $200,000 a month on private planes, $150,000 on private security and $300,000 a month on his 40-person staff. And you thought your gas bill was high.
Further, Depp has allegedly spend $75 million to maintain 14 homes around the world, including a chain of islands in the Bahamas. He also bought a 150-foot yacht, and enough art and memorabilia to fill 12 storage facilities.
Perhaps weirdest of all, Depp paid $3 million to shoot the ashes of Hunter S. Thompson out of a canon.
The Management Group claims it warned Depp about his spending habits. "Depp, and Depp alone, is fully responsible for any financial turmoil he finds himself in today," the company said in its countersuit. Still, Depp alleges that the company mismanaged $25 million of his funds. We have a feeling he's got that much money hidden away under some couch cushions somewhere.
The whole thing reminds us of the best Dril tweet of all time:
