John Prine's family and Oh Boy Records label have announced a livestream special airing later this week in honour of the late musician.

The online special — titled Picture Show: A Tribute Celebrating John Prine — will feature a number of appearances by country music's brightest stars, including Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves, Sturgill Simpson, Brandi Carlile and more.

Other performers include Courtney Marie Andrews, Dan Auerbach, Kevin Bacon, Brené Brown, Eric Church, producer Dave Cobb, Stephen Colbert, Peter Cooper, Iris DeMent, John Dickerson, Mitchell Drosin, David Ferguson, Vince Gill, Jeremy Ivey, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, Pat McLaughlin, Margo Price, Jack Prine, Tommy Prine, Bonnie Raitt, the Secret Sisters, Kyra Sedgwick, Amanda Shires, Todd Snider, Billy Bob Thornton, Kurt Vile, Kelsey Waldon, Sara Watkins, Jody Whelan, John Paul White and Rita Wilson.

"This will be an online celebration of the life of John Prine. Produced by the Prine family and Oh Boy Records, featuring musicians, actors and friends remembering our beloved JP," organizers wrote of the occasion.

The Prine family announced plans to hold the special late last month, when Prine's widow, Fiona Prine told fans, "We look forward to being with you all to remember and celebrate your friend and our beloved husband, dad and grandpa."

The tribute is being held in support of NAMI, Alive and Make the Road New York charities, and will feature "memories and songs as well as rare and never-before-seen footage of John himself."

The special goes live this Thursday (June 11) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Prine's Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.

Prine passed away back in April after contracting COVID-19. He was 73 years old.
