Plenty of celebrities have gotten into the cannabis game over the past few years, although few have as personal a connection to the plant quite like Jim Belushi. The comedy star and brother of beloved late SNL cast member John Belushi is motivated to spread the good word of weed because of his brother's passing.

Earlier this week, Belushi tweeted, "If my brother John was a pot head, he'd still be here today."

On March 5, 1982, John Belushi died at the age of 33 following an accidental drug overdose from "speedball" — a combination of cocaine and heroin.

John's tragic death has followed Jim ever since and has used it as a motivator for Belushi's Farm, the cannabis growth facility he founded in 2015.

"That is why I became a cannabis farmer. To spread this medicine to people who need it. No family should have to go through the trauma of losing a loved one to opioids," he added.
