'Jeopardy!' Contestant James Holzhauer Passes $1 Million Mark on Impressive Win Streak

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 24, 2019

As if winning 14 games in a row weren't impressive enough, Jeopardy! contestant James Holzhauer managed to surpass the $1 million USD mark with another impressive victory last night (April 23).

That feat comes during a streak that has already seen the trivia champ break the record for the highest single-game winnings — twice.

On April 9, Holzhauer broke the previous record of $77,000 USD by winning $110,914. On April 17, he bested himself by earning a whopping $131,127 USD in one game.

Clearly, being a professional sports gambler from Las Vegas has been paying off for Holzhauer.

He's already ranked second in Jeopardy!'s list of all-time highest winnings in regular season play, behind Ken Jennings (who holds the record with $2,520,700 USD). Brad Rutter holds the record for all-time winnings including tournament play with $4,688,440 USD.

The show has even launched a personalized money tracker for the guy.

Jeopardy! may have already wrapped filming for its 35th season, but you can still tune in tonight to see if Holzhauer can keep his streak going.
