Jason Alexander Doesn't Know Anything About Those 'Seinfeld' Reunion Rumours: "No One Called Me"

"Apparently, they don't need George and they may not need Elaine 'cause Julia [Louis-Dreyfus] and I went, 'Do you know anything about this? I don't know anything about this.'"

During a standup set last month, Jerry Seinfeld teased that "something is going to happen with that ending," referring to the universally despised finale of his Larry David co-created hit sitcom Seinfeld. Jason Alexander, who played George Costanza on the show, has now addressed the rumours — which seemingly have him once again feeling like Lord of the Idiots.

"There is only one reason for that rumour," the actor told Extra at a recent celebrity poker tournament hosted by Bryan Cranston. "Apparently, at the end of some stand-up thing, [Jerry] went, 'Larry [David] and I are thinking of something.' Good for you. I don't know anything about it."

"No one called me," Alexander continued, having imaginably checked his answering machine. (Maybe his mailbox is full?) "Apparently, they don't need George and they may not need Elaine 'cause Julia [Louis-Dreyfus] and I went, 'Do you know anything about this? I don't know anything about this.'"

He added, "And I just talked to Michael [Richards] the other day and I don't think he knew anything about it," citing the actor who played Seinfeld's wacky neighbour, Cosmo Kramer.

Seinfeld aired its final episode on May 14, 1998, and its titular comedian's hinting that remedying it 25 years later pricked the ears of many fans. Alexander hasn't gotten a memo, though — so if any sort of reunion or reboot is actually in the works, it must be in early stages. It's not a lie if you believe it?
