In recent months, Jane Fonda has been drumming up excitement for a sequel to her hit 1980 movie 9 to 5. Now, she's all but confirmed that the project is on its way.

Speaking to reporters at an event to promote an upcoming HBO documentary about her life, Fonda said that the sequel would include Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton reprising their roles.

"My role is as an executive producer, and I'm working with the writers, with Lily, and talking to the writers," Fonda said [via The Hollywood Reporter]. "Right now, Dolly, Lily and I are all intending to be in it."

The original film dealt with issues of misogyny in the workplace, making a sequel all too timely.

"I'm sorry to say the situation is worse today," Fonda added. "Today a lot of the work force is hired by an outside company. Who do you talk to if you have a problem?"

Earlier this year, Rashida Jones and Pat Rosnick signed on with 20th Century Fox to write a script for the sequel.
