James Gunn Says 'The Suicide Squad' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' Will Not Be Delayed from Coronavirus

'The Suicide Squad' is being edited from home

After a tumultuous time away, James Gunn was rehired to helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 while also picking up his own Suicide Squad sequel in the process. Considering the long road he took to these films, it would be a shame to see them postponed due to the coronavirus. As of press time, they're still coming out as planned. 

The Suicide Squad has been dated for release on August 6, 2021. That's a long time from now, and Gunn doesn't seem too worried about it getting pushed back. That's as much as he told a fan in a new tweet:
 

Further, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has not been dated yet, but Gunn added that he expects that film to forge ahead as planned too:
