Jake Gyllenhaal Is Making a Show About Cults for A&E
From American Horror Story to True Detective to Fargo, anthology television series are all the rage these days. Adding to the bunch, Jake Gyllenhaal has announced that he's making one for A&E. Better yet, each season will follow a different notorious cult.

The yet-to-be-titled show is being developed by Gyllenhaal and his producing partner Riva Marker under their Nine Stories production company. Its first season will follow the story of Jim Jones' notorious cult the Peoples Temple of the Disciples of Christ.

"Jim Jones is a complex character – one who has found his way into the collective unconscious," Gyllenhaal said in a press release. "We want to focus on the undeniable magnetism of zealots and the danger of that kind of charisma. A notion not only pertinent to cult leaders but to the geo-political climate of today."

Stay tuned for more information on Gyllenhaal's new cult series as it becomes available.
