Last year, we learned that Jóhann Jóhannsson had been tapped to score Denis Villeneuve's forthcoming Blade Runner sequel. Now, the Icelandic composer is reportedly no longer involved with Blade Runner 2049 at all.

As Icelandic publication Vísir reports, Jóhannsson has been removed from the team, with his name nowhere to be found in the production credits. The composer's agent confirmed the news to the publication.

It was announced in July of this year that Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch had been brought on board to write additional music for the film. At that time, Villeneuve confirmed that Jóhannsson was still involved with the project.

Villeneuve had previously enlisted Jóhannsson to soundtrack his films Sicario and Prisoners

Blade Runner 2049 arrives in theatres October 6.
